Fisker is set to enter the high end electric car market with their 4 door sports sedan model - the Karma. In mid August the company annouced full testing of a drivable prototype is going as planned. Recently the company also recieve a funding boost of $65 million dollars from a Qatar based investment group.
The vehicles on track for a late 2009 release are now completely sold out, but they are taking pre-orders for 2010.

Yesterday GM apparently “leaked” photos of the final production model of the highly anticipated Volt. Here are some of the photos.
With much of the focus on the GM Volt, the Toyota Prius electric, and Honda Insight cars set to launch in 2010, Nissan has also announced a plug in electric car of their own. Using advanced lithium ion batteries, the Nissan electic vehicle is reported to be a small wagon resembling the Scion Xb.
Nissan also plans to release a hybrid electric vehicle in 2010.

Honda is planning on bringing back the Insight model, which was discountinued in 2006, now as a hybrid. The car could sell for only $18,500 which would be $3,500 lower than the wildley popular Toyota Prius.

Honda’s lease program of approximately 200 FCX Clarity is now underway in Southern California. The 3 year lease program has a price of $600 per month, which includes all maintenance. The zero emissions sedan is expected to be in high demand as more unit are rolled out.

A Ford executive recently stated that electricity is the fuel of choice for the American car company. They continue to pursue Hydrogen fuel cells and ethanol, but ultimately they are betting on electric.

An interesting look at the all electric Telsa Roadster as driven by their first official customer - Jay Leno. The groudbreaking technology and performance of this car should quickly filter down to more affordable applications for the everyday consumer.
According to a source at Toyota, they are moving up their scheduled delivery of Prius plug in hybrid cars from 2010 to 2009. These will be for commercial fleets and no timetable is set for retail sale of the plug in.
