Are there any major differences between the top crusing speed of a hybrid vs a regular, gas/diesel powered car?

Not really because of the hybrid, but because the cars usually have smaller engines to be more efficient.  I know the Prius will go over 100mph.  There is no reason they can't be fast other than the efficiency factor.
